Members and guests of the West Cornwall Ladies’ Luncheon Club looked resplendent in their hats and corsages at the Royal Duchy Hotel in Falmouth for their June Social.

The event on Thursday was attended by 69 members and six guests, who were welcomed by the chairman Gill Rees-Johnson.

The club did not have a speaker on this occasion, but during the meal the members were entertained by David Hayes from St. Austell who played both modern and classical music on his guitar.

During the proceedings the chairman presented Julie Peart with a bouquet on her retirement as secretary after five years, for which she received the thanks of the club.

The club will hold it's next meeting on Thursday, September 8, when the speaker will be Shaun Pascoe, who will talk on 'Making the Right Turn', the medical emergency response team in Afghanistan and transitioning after operations.

The club always meets on the second Thursday in the month from September to June and, if anyone is interested in joining they can contact Mrs Rees-Johnson on 01326 316 553, and will be made to feel very welcome.
