Officers searching for a missing Penryn man are trying to find a person who handed in his bus pass the day he disappeared.

Lee Gilbert went has not been seen since June 9, and on that same day his bus pass was handed into a bus driver, with police now looking for the person who found it.

A force spokesperson said: "On this day his bus pass was handed in to a bus driver, although the details of where and how the card was found remain unknown.

"It is believed that the bus pass may have been found in the Penryn area. Police are keen to speak with the person who found and handed in the bus pass as they may hold information vital to locating Mr Gilbert."

Mr Gilbert is aged 39 and described as white, 5ft 3ins in height, of medium build, with brown greying hair which is balding at the back, a beard and tattoos on both arms and legs. He has lost weight since the photograph accompanying this article was taken.

He may be wearing brown Karrimor hiking boots, grey cargo shorts, a blue and white short-sleeved check shirt, and carrying a small black rucksack.

Lee is thought to be on foot and is usually in and around the Penryn, Falmouth and Truro areas.
