Penryn Town Council has expanded its committee structure and reorganised its regular schedule of meetings.
Up until June the council held one full council meeting and one planning committee meeting each month, but the creation of a finance and general purposes and an amenities committee means there will now be more regular meetings.
The full council meetings, which involve the participation of all town councillors, will now be held once every two months on the first Monday.
The finance and general purposes committee, which oversees issues such as audits, administration, corporate services, governance, staffing, civic services and events, policy review, and performance management, will also meet every two months, on the third Monday.
The amenities committee, which deals with public services and facilities such as the Town Hall, Temperance Hall, public toilets, parks, open spaces and children’s play areas, street scene services, Glebe Cemetery, and car parks, will meet every two months on the second Monday.
The planning committee will meet every three weeks.
The amenities committee met on Monday, and the planning committee on Tuesday, with the finance and general purposes committee expected to meet on July 18.
