The Natural Store in Falmouth is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month, having outlived many other shops that opened in the town during the late 90s and paved the way for other health food stores throughout Cornwall.

The shop in High Street started life as one of the first wholefood and natural food suppliers in Falmouth. And while there have been a few changes along the way, that same shop is still thriving today.

“We wanted to host a party to say thank you to our loyal customers from in and around Falmouth," said manager Rob Kneebone. "We want to continue to help people living in Falmouth, or anyone visiting, to make good, informed choices about what they are eating and where that food comes from. The party was about saying thank you."

The celebration involved live music from local bands and musicians, food and drink samples, goody bags full to the brim with giveaways and samples to try and facepainting - there really was something for all ages.

In addition, over the two days, there was a raffle for a hamper of goods from the store and a gift voucher which raised £90 for Cornish charity Surfers Against Sewage.

Paul Johnson, owner of The Natural Store, said: “We had a very successful two days celebrating our 20 years in Falmouth, seeing many, many customers old and new. In fact, there has been a wholefood shop here for something like 40 years, starting as The Granary, but in the autumn we will be moving to bigger premises opposite the pier on the Market Strand. This means both stores can be under one roof with more room to move and more room for new lines. Many thanks to our customers who have given us so much support over the years in increasing numbers.”

The party was not only attended by members of the community and customers, but also deputy mayor Trish Minson who cut a cake to mark the occasion.
