Rynners of all ages pulled on their fancy dress under a clear blue sky as they came together for the Penryn Carnival on Saturday afternoon.

There was all manner of outfit on show, from Del Boy and Rodney with a cardboard Robin Reliant, to a group of majorettes from Penryn Community Bingo, and even one lady who got very topical and dressed as a seagull proof sack.

One group effort came from the boys of Penryn Rugby Club's under-16s, who kitted themselves out as Italian rugby players all together in one incredibly long gondola as they attempted to raise some more cash for a tour of Italy in 2017.

The procession is the third since the carnival was revived in 2014, and it was led by Lanner and District Silver Band, and joined by the town's mayor and mayoress, Mark and Diane Snowdon, as well as the carnival king and queen and this year's fairy king and queen.

Starting at the rugby club it wended its way through the centre of Penryn, before finishing on the quay.

Mr Snowdon said: "The carnival was really well supported by participants and I'd like to say a big thank you to all those people who made the effort.

"Beautiful evening weather wise and I was really proud of the whole thing, everyone enjoyed it."
