The Grand Bard of Cornwall has joined Penryn Town Council to invite local bards to a service of commemoration for the town's fair day.
Grand Bard Merv Davey would like to hear from any bards who would like join the service August 27 at 12.15pm , which is part of Penryn's 800th anniversary celebrations.
As part of the service the founder of Penryn, 'Bishop Simon of Apulia,' will be landing at the quay, where he will be welcomed by the town crier and the mayor, Mark Snowdon, along with other invited guests.
He will then be conveyed through the town in a specially designed cart, accompanied by the university staff in full gowns and the town's Dead Rynner Society - a group of residents dressed as people from Penryn history - to the service before leading a parade to Penryn Chapel, where he will declare Penryn Fair Day open.
Guests will then be invited to enjoy a cream tea.
