A man became stuck up to his knees in the mud at Argal reservoir on Thursday afternoon and had to be rescued by specialist firefighters.
Fire crews, ambulance, police, and specialist water rescue crews were called to the reservoir near Penryn at around 4pm.
Anglers fishing at the lake reportedly told the man not to take the route but use the path but apparently he ignored their advice and became stuck.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Crews successfully rescued the male using water rescue equipment."
The incident was attended by crews from Falmouth and Truro, and water rescue teams from Falmouth and Penzance.
