There was plenty of fun with the four-legged friends of Mylor on Sunday as the Landerio Horse and Dog Show returned to Landerio Farm.

Despite pouring rain the day before, the organisers were able to take advantage of a break in the weather to put on a full show and make sure every dog had its day in the spotlight.

As well as letting locals parade their pooches or show they were hot to trot, the event also proved a successful fundraiser for local charities, with an estimated total in the same region as last year's takings which were about £1,400.

Jackie Meyers, one of the event organisers, said: "It was very good, we were just very pleased with the way it went.

"The competition was good, everybody seemed to be happy."

She added: "The dog show was very well attended, one or two events were down in the showing rings, but with the weather as it was that was to be expected.

"We were lucky because it stayed dry just long enough, until we started to clean up."

All proceeds from the show will be split between Children’s Hospice South West, Bolenowe Animal Sanctuary and the Last Chance Hotel dog rescue charity.
