Falmouth is in the grip of flash flooding this evening as freak torrential rain batters the town.
Thunderstorms and what has has been described on social media as "biblical" rain have hammered down for much of the afternoon and into this evening, causing chaos in the town centre.
Market Strand and the area around the Prince of Wales Pier is now a river of running water where the road used to be, as shown in this photograph by Laura Barnes.
Manhole covers throughout the town are raising, including in Kimberley Park Road.
In Killigrew Street, Ciaran Clarke captured this shot of a ground floor flat entirely submerged underwater.
Penryn did not escape unscathed, as shown in this photo from Rachel Gerred-Hart of a car battling heavy surface water.
