Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A39 in Cornwall.

Police were called just before 5.30am on Monday 19 September following a report of a two vehicle collision on the A39, Falmouth.

A blue VW polo car and a motorcycle were involved in the collision and road closures were in place at A39 Treluswell and Devoran, as emergency services attended the scene.

The driver of the motorbike, a 30-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

The road was closed for six hours while investigations took place with traffic being diverted through Perranarworthal. The closure caused long delays for people trying to get to work during the rush hour.

The Police Serious Collisions Unit is appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who has any information that could help police with their investigations.
