Penryn Town Council submitted an application to define the boundaries for the Neighbourhood Plan it is currently developing.

The council, acting on behalf of the town's Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, has applied to Cornwall Council for the designation of a neighbourhood area - the area to be included in the neighbourhood plan.

A map submitted by the council shows the area as being the same as the parish boundaries for Penryn, and in an accompanying letter the town clerk Michelle Davey has written: "This area is considered to be appropriate... as it follows the parish boundary and therefore the area serviced and administered by Penryn Town Council, the qualifying body."

Once the application is formally accepted, a six week public consultation will start, before Cornwall Council can approve or refuse the application.
