A Falmouth man who beat up an on-duty parking warden has been given a 12-month sentence.
Daniel Steven Kemp, from Trevithick Road, pleaded guilty to assaulting a civil enforcement officer from Cornwall Council by beating him in January this year.
Kemp, aged 32, also admitted criminal damage on the same date, January 29.
Magistrates in Truro heard how Kemp verbally and physically assaulted his victim in St Ives, while he was on duty.
They sentenced Kemp to a 12-month community order and ordered that he pay compensation to his victim.
Speaking after the hearing, Phil Mason, Cornwall Council’s head of service, responsible for parking enforcement, said: “Parking services make it a priority to keep their officers safe at all times and will not tolerate any member of their staff being subjected to verbal or physical abuse of any kind.”
