The plans to build student accommodation on the site of Ocean Bowl in Falmouth will not be debated by Cornwall councillors on Monday after the application was withdrawn from the agenda, The council's central sub area planning committee had been due to debate and determine the application on Monday, but that will now not happen until next month. Only last week Falmouth Town Council had thrown its weight behind residents' objections to the scheme.
A spokesman for Cornwall Council said of the decision to withdraw the proposals from Monday's meeting; "This is to enable members of the planning committee to receive a strategic briefing beforehand on the planning issues associated with accommodating student growth in Falmouth and Penryn.
"The application has been rescheduled to the next meeting of the central planning committee on 21 November."
