Residents of Penryn and Falmouth have three weeks left to voice their opinions on plans to raise the number of students at Penryn Campus to 7,500.

Cornwall Council's public consultation period on the application closes on December 6, with the original decision deadline having been extended from August this year.

The plans, which can be found on Cornwall Council's planning website under application number PA16/03323, have currently amassed more than 250 public comments, and the council has also received a petition of more than 2,500 signatures.

The company which runs the campus, FX Plus, was originally given permission to enrol up to 5,000 students at the site, but is now looking to alter the planning conditions to allow a 50 per cent increase to 7,500. The increase would be incremental between now and 2020.
