One person has been airlifted to hospital after being cut from a car involved in a crash on Bickland Water Road in Falmouth this afternoon.

Firefighters, police, paramedics and the air ambulance were all sent to the two vehicle collision, which happened shortly after 4pm.

One police officer at the scene said the injuries were "believed to be non-life threatening."

One of the vehicles involved was a small, black hatchback car.

A fire service spokesperson said: "Crews used crash rescue equipment to cut one casualty free from the wreckage. Once released the casualty was taken to hospital via air ambulance."

Three other casualties are being treated on scene while firefighters make the vehicles safe.

The road is currently closed, but is expected to be reopened within one to to hours.
