Falmouth police's marine crime team are searching for the owners of two boats which have been found in the area over the last week.

Officers from Falmouth Boat Watch located an unsecured, white, three metre Ribeye with a Yamaha outboard engine in the Falmouth area on Saturday.

PCSO Chris Braddon said: "If you have a boat matching this description please check it and if found to be missing contact Falmouth Haven boat park who have more information on it’s current location."

He added: "We have had no stolen reports matching this description."

Also found was a tender which was drifting near Flushing last week. Officers said the dinghy may have been stolen or may just have been lost, but there are currently no theft reports matching it.

Falmouth Boat Watch is asking anyone who think the boat might be theirs to get in touch.

The team is also reminding boat owners that they can get outboard engine covers and microdot marking kits, which can act as a crime deterrent as well as protecting boat engines from the elements, and which are available from Macsalvors boathouse and Robin Curnow outboard in Penryn.
