A teenager who died following a crash on the Falmouth to Truro road on Tuesday night has been named as Danny Thomas. A second man has "potentially life threatening" injuries 

Emergency services found a Vauxhall Corsa on its roof on the A39, which had a hit a tree opposite the layby, not far from the Norway Inn.

Danny, an 18-year-old from Roche, and a member of Bodmin Boxing Club was declared dead at the scene.

A second teenager, aged 19, was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital by ambulance, before being transferred to Derriford Hospital. His injuries have been described by police this morning as "serious and potentially life threatening."

A statement on the Bodmin Boxing Club Facebook page said it was a sad and shocking loss of an absolutely amazing young man. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family at this sad time and are here for them all in any way needed,” it said.

The road was closed overnight while police investigated the crash, which took place just before midnight on Monday. The road closures were lifted at around 8.45am.
