A SPORTS photographer studying at Falmouth University has been left devastated after all his camera equipment worth £8,000 was stolen from a football club's press room.

Micah Crook from London will be forced to give up lucrative sporting jobs, including the Commonwealth Games, after the camera equipment was stolen from Fulham FC's press room before their match against Southampton on Saturday.

Micah has now set up a Go Fund Me page to try and raise the £8,000 needed to replace the equipment and has already raised over £4,000 in just two days.

Writing on his Go Fund Me page Micah says: "I am completely devastated to tell you that today; my camera case was stolen from Fulham Football Club containing all of my cameras, lenses and laptop.

"I was hoping to photograph the game between Fulham and Southampton and whilst getting food from the media room, my gear was stolen from the press room.

"This has put a halt to my photography career and ambitions, as I have no equipment and have sadly had to pull out from photographing my team AFC Wimbledon at "Wembley tomorrow [Sunday] against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup 3rd Round. "Not only will I be missing this, but I will also have to pull out of photographing the Commonwealth Games, which I was set to photograph in Brisbane, Australia this April.

"It will also affect my studies of press and editorial photography at university, as I won't have equipment to continue my work.

"I am both shocked and distraught that this has happened and would be so grateful for any donations, which will be put to purchasing new equipment that will hopefully get me photographing the Commonwealth Games and professional football again."

He said for the last few years he has been working hard to create a name for himself in the sports photography industry.

He started photographing AFC Wimbledon when he was 16 before moving to university to continue learning his craft.

Whilst studying at Falmouth University he has been photographing games at; Plymouth Argyle, Exeter City and Exeter Chiefs, as well as more recently photographing Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion.

He has worked on a part-time job on a fruit stall, since the age of 15 to afford to purchase expensive camera equipment, accumulating enough professional equipment to photograph high level football and rugby matches.
