Penryn-based business Macsalvors Ltd has received £500 worth of business and professional training courses thanks to a unique Business Toolkit initiative.

The Cornish plant hire business was drawn at random from all of the businesses in the Falmouth area who took part in Truro and Penwith College’s second phase of the Business Toolkit initiative. The prize draw for the Falmouth area comes two months after Truro based business Cornish Food Box Company also benefitted from the initiative. Business Development Advisors (BDAs) from the College delivered toolkits containing advice, guidance and discount vouchers for a range of courses to Falmouth based businesses last month.

Each Business Toolkit also included a unique serial number and Macsalvors Ltd was the lucky business drawn at random to receive the £500 prize to spend on business and professional training at the College.

Sally Bazley, Store Manager at Macsalvors in Penryn, said: “It was very helpful meeting James Bemrose, the BDA who delivered our toolkit as we were able to discuss and highlight the specific needs of the business. It was extremely useful to have a conversation about the training schemes available at the College, and we’re surprised and delighted to have won the £500 prize draw!”

James Bemrose, Business Development Advisor at the College, said: “The Business Toolkit resource has proved really popular. It was a pleasure to meet Sally and learn about Macsalvors. We took the time to identify their training requirements that will help target their business goals, and I look forward to seeing their team at the College.”

Sally Bazley, Store Manager of Macsalvors Ltd added: “The Business Toolkit will be a benefit to us, and the boys enjoyed the sweets and goodies in the toolkit too!”

Truro and Penwith College’s Business Tool Kit initiative has proven so successful that it is being rolled out into other areas across Cornwall.
