A bag and clothing found at Castle Beach caused some alarm for Falmouth police today who feared the owner might have been caught out by the rough sea.
Plans for a search swung into action before it was discovered that the owner was actually at home and had left the bag on the beach by mistake.
Writing on Twitter, Falmouth Police said: “A bag and clothing found at Castle Beach #Falmouth. We had concerns that the owner had gotten caught out in the rough sea. The makings of a search was underway until the owner was located at home shortly after, having left the bag by accident at the beach #police #cornwall 30699.”
