Calling all amateur or semi-professional photographers, the Packet has set up its very first camera club.

The Packet Camera Club is a Facebook group on the Packet's own Facebook page and we want people to join and post pictures of what they are up to in their community and their stunning pictures of this part of the world.

We're not looking for professionals, we just want to see pictures that reflect life in West Cornwall the people, the landscapes and events. It could be you're at an event that you think people would be interested in, unusual weather such as the recent snow, wildlife or even a breaking news story that you happen to come across.

We've already had great start before the group was even made public with 25 members who have already started posting their favourite recent shots, some of which you can see in the gallery attached to this article.

Once we get started we are looking to publish our favourites on line and in paper once a month with a prize for our favourite picture and we will give each photographer a credit. We are even looking at producing a calendar at the end of the year. Members can comment on other peoples' pictures and post constructive criticism. We are also looking at inviting professionals to do a Q&A online and offer tips and instruction. If there's enough interest we can even arrange talks.

So don't worry about whether you are professional or not, we just want your pictures. So get posting!

Before you do that though there are some rules so make sure you read our contributor's terms before you start posting. They can be found falmouthpacket.co.uk/my/account/contributorterms/ The Packet Camera Club can be found on the Packet's Facebook page. The one golden rule though is: Be nice to each other, only constructive criticism please. We will look very unfavourably on anyone who starts posting nasty comments.
