A ball to raise vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West is set to take place at the luxurious Alverton Manor in Truro on Saturday, April 21, writes Leah Marshall.

If you attend this glamorous event you can enjoy their band, DJ, auction, buffet and bar, which is all included in the ticket price of £35.

This is the perfect excuse to get together with friends and family to indulge in an elegant black-tie evening in the manor's beautiful surroundings and all for a great cause.

CHWS is dedicated to making the most of short and precious lives, providing the best possible hospice care for life-limited children and their families.

There are three hospices in the South West: Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, Charlton Farm in Bristol and Little Harbour in St Austell.

It costs £9 million to run these three hospice sites each year, and the charity relies almost entirely on voluntary contributions.

They offer a range of integral services, including short breaks, specialist play, music therapy, activities for siblings, palliative and emergency care, end of life care, bereavement support and specialist medical care.

All of these services are free for families and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Community Fundraiser for CHWS, Alice Merrett  said: “We are delighted to hear that we are the beneficiary charity for this Spring Ball.

“Little Harbour, our children’s hospice in St Austell, supports children and families from right across Cornwall and Plymouth so money raised at events such as this really does make a difference to the care and support that we can offer our families.”
