A YOUNG group of filmmakers are raising money to fund their feature film debut: Scarlet Storm.

The film will be mostly shot around Falmouth and follows the story of a young man who breaks out of a concrete cell and has to assimilate into society for the first time.

Writer/Director Mitchell Kendall Smith said: “We’re taking a premise that’s very larger than life and we’re compressing that into a character study where we prioritise the purer aspects of filmmaking. That’s not to say that it’s not going to have huge spectacle because it will.”

Most of the cast and crew are between the ages of 19 and 22, and some of them have already had experience working in the industry with some top productions such as Poldark.

Mitchell said: “It’s a labour of love. We are doing it to make something that people should see.”

The crew have put together some examples of their filmmaking which can be seen on their Kickstarter page.
