THE 15th Shanty Festival is basking in beautiful weather this weekend, as singers from far and wide bring the sweet songs of the sea to Falmouth.

More than 20 venues across the town are hosting in excess of 60 groups and crowds have made the most of the sunshine to enjoy the open air stages.

Fisherman’s Friends will perform on the Skinner’s Stage in Events Square at 4pm, which will no doubt be one of the highlights from the three-day event.

The Festival Parade (pictured), led by the ubiquitous Betty Stogs and Falmouth Marine Band, left Prince of Wales Pier yesterday morning and wended its way through the town to Events Square.

Road closures through Market Street, Church Street and Arwenack Street will be in place from 11am to 6pm today.

Church Street car park will also be closed to vehicles today.
