New lines of inquiry are being investigated into the death of murdered Pagan councillor Peter Solheim and a reward of £10,000 is now being offered for information that leads to the conviction of the killer.

Police revealed this afternoon that a review of all the evidence had identified several new leads that would be investigated over the coming weeks.

The mutilated body of 56-year-old Mr Solheim, a Budock parish councillor who was interested in witchcraft and the occult, was found floating in the sea eight miles off Black Head, The Lizard on the June 18, 2004.

He had been drugged and mutilated with a machete or axe before he died.

His former lover, Margaret James of Porthoustock, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence after being found guilty of conspiracy to murder in July 2006.

Mr Solheim’s killer, however, has never been found.
