Fun and games on Falmouth’s Customs House Quay did not stop after the Red Arrows’ dazzling display last night.

A crew from Falmouth Marine Band took on the crew from the working boats in a re-enactment of the Battle of Trafalgar.

Paul Wickes from the Marine Band said that history was not rewritten and the English emerged victorious.

He said: “I’m not quite sure how completely accurate to history it was but we had a laugh and it was really good fun.

And I’ve got the aches and pains to prove it.”

He added that the crowd stayed to watch after the Red Arrows had finished.

“There was a tremendous crowd on the quay, it was absolutely packed. I fear they may want us to do it again.”

Also last night some men in drag took part in some “Wench Winching” to pick them out of the basin on the quay.

Paul added: “I missed that, we had retired for a drink by that point.”
