Falmouth Floral Arrangement Society has celebrated its Emerald Anniversary at the Penmorvah Manor Hotel in Budock.
The society was started back in 1955 when a handful of ladies inspired by Julia Clements got together and formed the club, with the late Marion Howard Spring becoming the first president.
At the anniversary lunch, the current chairman Cheryle Risely, welcomed members and guests from the various clubs nearby and read some of the many cards of congratulation. Diane Bate, president of the Falmouth club, was presented with a badge marking 47 years as a member of the National Association of Floral Arrangement Societies.
The dining room had been decorated throughout with a green theme and everyone present received a green orchid buttonhole, to mark the Emerald Anniversary.
In the afternoon a flower demonstration was given, titled Spring into Summer.
The celebration cake was then cut by Eileen Stratton, life member, and tea was served.
