Falmouth flower arrangers to get fruity in aid of show

Strawberries and cream at a three-star hotel in Budock Water is the tasty way people can raise money towards a large flower show in Falmouth later this year.

The strawberry cream teas will be served at the Penmorvah Manor Hotel from 2.30pm this Sunday.

There will also be stalls selling plants and bric-a-brac.

Tickets should be bought in advance for £5 from Jackie Phillips Flowers on The Moor in Falmouth.

The event is raising money towards the Devon and Cornwall branch of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies, which will be holding its area show at the Falmouth Beach Hotel in Falmouth on September 15 and 16. This is the farthest west the show has even been held.

There will be 12 classes of flower arrangements, all with the theme “natural art,” with a flower demonstration taking place on the first day at the Princess Pavilion.
