University College Falmouth will see a 6.6 per cent cut in cash from its grant body before funding changes linked to student fees come in.
Universities across England are facing cuts, with the University of Plymouth facing a 5.5 per cent cut and the University of Exeter a 4.5 per cent cut.
The Higher Education Funding Council for England's chief executive Sir Alan Langlands said that while a “challenging settlement” the grant was designed to try to ensure a "smooth transition" to the funding system being introduced in 2012.
Students will have to pay tuition fees of between £6,000 and £9,000 a year as the government wants increased fees to largely to replace government funding of courses.
University College Falmouth has not announced yet how much students will have to pay in fees.
