There is just one month to go until over 1,000 women will gather in Falmouth to walk, jog and run to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The Race for Life is returning to the town on Sunday, May 13 and will follow a 5km route around Pendennis Point, starting and finishing at the Gyllyngvase Beach car park. There are still some spaces for people to sign up and event organisers are encouraging as many mums, daughters, sisters, grandmas and friends to get involved.
Last year, 1442 women took part in the event in Falmouth, raising £69,234.
This year, organisers are aiming for 1,400 women and girls to help raise £66,000 for vital research.
Kate Shimmell, from Cancer Research UK, said: “We know many women want to take part in Race for Life but are worried they won’t be able to complete the course. We want to reassure them that Race for Life is not about being fast or fit. Most women are able to walk 5km in an hour while chatting and having fun.”
