This year’s University College Falmouth’s graduate fashion show could become a real opportunity for aspiring models, as the London-based model agency will be attending one of two castings for the event.

There will be two castings this Friday (April 27) in which UCF will look for volunteer models to help showcase the final work of students on the fashion design and the performance sportswear courses.

The first casting will take place in Tresillian Hall at Truro College from 9.30am until 12.30pm, followed by an afternoon session in the fashion department at UCF’s Woodlane Campus in Falmouth between 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

Representatives of model agency nevs will be watching, in a bid to scout new Cornish talent.

Jane Gottelier, UCF programme leader for fashion, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for hopeful Cornish models to be spotted.”

Aspiring models, between the ages of 16 and 25, are invited to attend. Female attendees are required to bring a pair of heeled shoes and, ideally, to be over 5ft 6in, with men over 5ft 10in.

The link was established though a UCF graduate of the fashion and design course, Emily Frost.

Jane said: “Establishing links with the fashion industry is an important element of the courses we offer and we are grateful to Emily for adding a new element to our model castings for the fashion show.”

The show, titled A Different Perspective, is being held on May 23. Tickets will be on sale soon.
