Police have confirmed that one woman died at the scene of a serious collision on the outskirts of Penryn at around 11.30am yesterday.
Two vehicles, a Travis Perkins lorry and a black VW Bora, were involved in the collision on the A394 - between the Treliever roundabout and the recycling centre at Longdowns.
The driver of the VW Bora, which was travelling in the direction of Falmouth, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesman said: "There were no other significant injuries.
"The weather at the time was described as good visibility with low cloud and wet roads, but it was not raining at the time.
"A full investigation into the circumstances of the collision is being undertaken by officers from the serious collisions investigation unit at Camborne Police station."
Any witnesses to the incident and in particular a gold coloured car that was travelling towards Treliever roundabout at the time are asked to contact the police on 101 quoting police reference 0256 of 081012.
