Entertainment this month featured a BBC style Question Time. Members, family and visitors joined in the debate as the panellists aired their views on various subjects covering the voting age in England, compared to Scotland where it is 16; do we need a nudist beach in Falmouth?; Should we continue with the British Summer hour change? To name but a few.

President Pauline Fortey welcomed 23 members to the January meeting. The speaker, Mr D Chapman, was introduced and gave a talk and slide show “A Cornish Year”, covering all aspects of wildlife, floral and conservation issues.

Members got into the spirit of Christmas for their December meeting at the hall. Business for this month was kept to a minimum to allow time to exchange gifts, compete in competitions and entertainment, not to mention the superb food.

What is your image of knitting? As members discovered at their November meeting a whole new way of knitting, using various materials, assures this pastime has moved on from our grandmother’s day.

Cake, puppets and laughter were the order of the day on Sunday, September 23, when children who had been baptised in the previous 12 months came back to church to celebrate.
