New coffee shop to open

A new coffee shop dedicated to selling fresh, organic and locally-sourced produce is set to open its doors this week in Mawnan Smith.
Cornish Maid, situated in The Square, is being opened by local girl Sarah Bailey.
She said: “Cornish Maid is the perfect place for coffee, cake and a catch-up. We felt the village lacked somewhere to sit down and have a cup of tea and we wanted to create a place where people could meet friends, relax and shop.
“We’ve had so much support from the village. Everyone is very excited about the new café – it’s already a real talking point.
“We hope it will become a friendly meeting place for locals and a great stopping point for walkers and other visitors to Mawnan.”
The cafe will also stock Baker Tom fresh breads and pastries along with Roskilly’s ice-cream.
