Constantine Women's Institute

Jubilee weeks were very busy for many members, some joining the church procession on June 3, carrying the Constantine WI banner. The Jubilee coffee morning and craft exhibition on June 4 was a great success.

Members' work was exhibited, including handmade rugs, shawls, tapestry cushions for the Tolmen Centre seating, jewellery, patchworks bags etc. The ever-popular cake sales Table did well and visitors were very generous with donations for tea and biscuits going to the Village Jubilee Fund.

The monthly meeting on June 11 was held with windows open on a beautiful sunny summer's evening. Business discussed included the entry for the Royal Cornwall Show 'Jubilee'. The whole arrangement gained high marks with good comments from the judges; we were very pleased with our results. Everyone was looking forward to the evening ahead with skin care demonstrations from two representatives from Clinique in Truro. Two members had skin care consultations, leaving other members keen to book in for their own consultations at a later date - A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Our member's birthday outing on Monday, July 2 will be at Princess Pavilion, Falmouth for a meal and a walk around the garden - we are hoping for a warm summer's evening. At the next meeting on Monday, July 9 we welcome Pam Douglas to speak on 'How I became an Authoress.'
