The knowledge of keen horticulturists in the Falmouth area has been called upon to identify an unusual cactus that has flowered for the first time in over a decade.
Pat Clark, from Roscarrack Close, Boslowick, said she bought the cactus from a market stall around ten or 12 years ago and until now it has never flowered.
However, over the last few weeks a large shoot has extended and opened up to reveal dramatic blue and orange flowers.
Unfortunately, Mrs Clark has no idea what kind of cactus it is and has appealed to Packet readers for help in identifying the striking specimen.
She said: "I show the photos to everybody and nobody knows the variety. I love it though."
Anybody who knows what kind of cactus this is can contact the Packet via the letters page at the usual address.
