The service on Sunday was taken by the Rev Peter Facer and included holy communion.

The first hymn was Give to our God immortal praise. In the prayers of thanksgiving prayers were said thanking God for His love to all of us and forgiveness was asked for especially when we turn our back on Jesus. The first lesson was read by Alan Darvill from Job chapter 28 v 12-28 The second lesson on which the sermon was based was read by Rose Webber from Matthew chapter 13 v 31-33 and 44-52.

Peter said he loved looking at second hand books and once found two books of a set of three. The seller told him now you will have fun looking for the third which he said he has never found. We search on our road to God and the searching also never ends.

Peter also said: "There are no barriers in the Kingdom of God.” In our prayers of intercessions Peter prayed to bring God near to a torn world where there is so much trouble, naming many places where this is happening. Also people in our own country were prayed for and the Christian Church throughout the world. Those in our community who need our prayers were remembered. The closing hymn was Father who in Jesus found us. Margaret Dancer was the pianist; tea and coffee was served by Carole and Olive.

The service on Sunday will be taken by Barry May.
