Falmouth Camera Club Despite the cold dreary January weather it was another good turn out by club members last week where the subject for the evening was 'Photo-techniques'.
Club secretary David Buckby got the proceedings under way with a run through of events and competitions due to take place over the coming months, a reference to the Spring Flower Show offering the solace that warmer weather isn't too far away.
Next it was down to the business of learning new tricks and techniques with a selection of tutorials exploring some of the features available on popular photo enhancing software such as Photoshop and Photomatix.
With laptops at the ready Paul Young and Gerry Curtis showed the enthusiastic crowd how to use 'layers and masks', how to enhance an image by using the 'graduated filter' tool and how stacking images together can create a super sharp picture.
After a short break for refreshments it was back to the action with still life photography using a light tent while others took time to chat, mingle and exchange views.
Next week, January 22 we have the popular 'Ladies v Gents' photo competition which is sure to be an entertaining and competitive affair and not to be missed!
All home sessions are held at the Athenaeum Club on Kimberley Place from 7.30pm, please visit our web-page for more information. www.falmouthcameraclub.co.uk
