The first summer service of 2009 took place at Gwennap Pit on Sunday afternoon.

The preacher was the Rev Arthur Cowburn, the superintendent minister. Music was led by the 'Revive' worship band.

During the service the Rev Rose Westwood, who is leaving the circuit in September to take up a full-time role as Chaplain at the University of Cornwall, was presented with a gift.
