Fun run entries forms now available

Run it, Walk it, Jump it, Hop it… but do it! Limber up for the big run and get entry forms now – that’s the call from the organisers of the Mawnan Fun Run 2008.

The run, which is now in its fourth year, takes place on Sunday 5th October at 9.45am from the Carwinion Playing Fields in Mawnan Smith. Entry forms are now available and if regisstering before September 13, entrants will receive a free t-shirt.

Everybody is welcome runners, walkers, toddlers, families and teams and there promises to be even more amazing prizes. “We have an exciting new prize for 2008,” said organiser David O’Dell.

“Even if you are not a fast runner you are still in with a chance of winning lunch for four at the High Point Restaurant at the Polurrian Hotel in Mullion with a special lucky dip on race number.”

With well in excess of 200 runners last year this year organisers are expecting the day to be even bigger and better. “We have already started receiving entry forms” added Fun Run organiser Sally Read.

“We will of course have creche facilities, bouncy castle and face painting for the children and plenty of delicious refreshments. However, we really couldn’t do this without all the help provided by local companies with their sponsorship and prize donations. So a big thank you goes to all our sponsors.”

This years funds will be split between Helford River Gig Club, who are in desperate need for a new gig, and Bishops Forum, a local charity set up to support the community and in particular the Young People of Cornwall.

Information anb entry form can be obtained from Melanie Dixon-Phillip on 01326 252114.
