Christmas lights are twinkling over Gweek after thanks to a big festive switch-on on Sunday.
Father Christmas even put in a special guest appearance, arriving with a helper elf in a specially decorated Land Rover to hand out presents to the village’s children Families gathered at the centre of the village at 5.30pm to listen to Gweek Silver Band play Christmas carols, before the switch was flicked at 6pm, lighting up the village tree and festive lights.
The lights were switched on by Brian Toney who thanked everyone involved in making the event such a success.
Guests were also treated to Christmas poems written and read by Ollie, Dayani and Karan, pupils from Boskenwyn Primary.
All donations raised on the night will go towards ensuring the lights continue to shine out in Gweek every Christmas.
