- At 3am on Saturday morning around 200 Helston householders were advised to evacuate due to flooding.
- A severe flood warning, meaning "risk to life," was in place for two days on the River Cober through the town.
- Response teams worked throughout the night on Saturday to clear flood water from badly affected areas, at some points pumping as much as 9,000 litres a minute.
- Feared further heavy rain failed to materialise and the severe flood warning was stood down on the morning of Christmas Eve.
