Residents in flood prone parts of Helston can breathe a little easier after the flood warning for the River Cober was stood down today.
The warning has been in place since before Christmas, after torrential downpours saw the river burst its banks, causing an evacuation warning.
An EA spokesman said: "Levels in the River Cober and Loe Pool are now receding following the rainfall on New Years Eve.
"We are continuing to overpump from Loe Pool into the sea, helping to reduce flood risk upstream in Helston.
"As a result there is no longer an immediate risk of flooding to Helston. We continue to monitor river and pool levels."
