New Year's Eve proved a peaceful start to 2013 for Helston's police officers as they carried out only one arrest in the town centre.
This took place early in the evening and related to suspected drug offences, which led to one person being taken into custody.
Sergeant Ashley Putman, from Helston Police Station, said the remainder of the night passed through relatively quietly.
There were a fair few “nudges” given to some of the merrier revellers, suggesting it might be time to go home, but no arrests for drunk and disorderly behaviour.
“People were really responsive to that,” said Sgt Putman, who added that officers worked closely with the pubs' door staff to maintain order.
“It was the usual lovely night out in Helston,” he said.
