A Helston man travelled to Penzance to steal a shaver, a court has heard.

Joseph Patrick Deegan, of Meneage Parc, pleaded guilty to theft at Truro Magistrates’ Court.

The 47-year-old stole a Phillips Aqua Touch Plus shaver worth £99.99 from the Alverton Street branch of Boots Chemist in Penzance on September 22 last year.

He was made subject to a community order with requirements for supervision and treatment for alcohol dependency.
