Flipping brilliant pancakes at Cury Primary: PICTURES
1:00pm Friday 15th February 2013 in Helston
It was frying pans at the ready for Cury Primary School pupils this week when they enjoyed pancake races in the playground.
The traditional food of Shrove Tuesday – due to its origins that demand fresh produce such as milk and eggs are used up ahead of 40 days of fasting – was flipped, tossed and on occasion flung as pupils raced against each other.
They competed to see how many times they could toss their pancake, while also running up and down the playground.
Samantha Ratcliffe, from the school, said: “We have had loads of fun with our pancake races.”
