Firefighters tackle large Lizard quarry gorse fire

Firefighters were called out to Gwendreath Quarry, Near Kuggar on Tuesday after reports of a large gorse fire.

at 12/03/2013 21:13 The Fire Service received a call to a gorse fire near Gwendreath Quarry outside of Kuggar on the Lizard. Two appliances attended from Mullion just after 9pm and due to the scale of the fire, additional crews were called out from St Keverne.

Crews used beaters to extinguish a fire of 20 hectares. Arson was suspected and the police were informed.
