Big comedy bake off at Helston's Old Cattle Market tomorrow

Keen amateur bakers will be whisking their way to Helston’s Old Cattle Market this Saturday (March 16) for a Bake Off and Sale in aid of Comic Relief.

The competition is looking for the best buns, cakes, biscuits and bread, with all proceeds from entry fees and subsequent cake sales going to Comic Relief projects.

Entry (50p per class) opens at 11am, ahead of the judging which will begin at noon.

By 12.30pm, the winners should have been decided and once these have been announced members of the public will have the chance, between 1pm and 2pm, to buy all of the contestants’ produce to raise further funds for the charity appeal.

Classes comprise: Under six years old (any bake), six to 11 year olds (any bake), 11 to 16 year olds (any bake), best buns (six on a plate), best bread (two loaves of any bread), best biscuits (six on a plate), best Cornish bake and best decorated cake.
