Coverack is to get a new look open-plan Post Office, with increased opening hours and more services, from late May.

The new local style Post Office, at Bentray Shop on Mill Road, will operate from an open-plan till located at the shop counter, giving customers access to a wide range of Post Office products and services as well meeting their local shopping needs.

The branch is currently only open five days a week, but this will become seven days a week, with opening hours being extended to 70 hours a week as it will open significantly earlier and close later every day.

Post Office area manager Peter Wilkinson said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Coverack and we are confident this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”

The improved service will commence from Thursday, May 29, when the branch will reopen after closing for minor physical changes to the retail counter on May 14, when the nearest Post Office will be at St Keverne.
