This Saturday sees the return of the annual Folk Day at Cadgwith on the Lizard.
It’s a date that pulls musicians and singers from as far away as Bristol, and even Manchester, with one family from Germany even booking their annual holiday to coincide with the music.
From noon on Saturday (July 19) groups, duos and soloists will be performing in the courtyard of the Cadgwith Cove Inn to a mixed audience of locals and visitors.
Acts will range from the usual guitars and harmonicas to double basses, penny whistles fiddles, Irish drums, pipes, concertinas, even a psaltery – a small zither-like rarity.
The afternoon will be interspersed with a little magic, humorous monologues and a little fire-eating.
Admission is free but a collection will be taken for the Fishermen’s Mission at Newlyn.
